It's A Wonderful World (and Spring Sale)

Spring has arrived in Texas, and you know what that means! Sunshine, blue bonnets, and art festivals are calling. This year we are thankful to have even more reasons to celebrate. My husband and I have two amazing daughters and, as of January, are the owners of two playful pups-- Goldberry and Honey. Our older daughter was born with congenital heart disease and recently received a new valve that is equipping her heart to function more efficiently than ever before. I'm so excited to let her spread her wings and discover her passions and strengths. Our younger daughter is in that adventurous stage where anything she dreams is possible and I am inspired by her zest for life. They are such gifts and we are treasuring this time together.

March 24th is a particularly special day for Blake and I, as it marks the twentieth anniversary of our first date at a castle in Heidelberg, Germany. In a few months we will celebrate seventeen years of marriage, by the grace of God. I couldn't have imagined then, as a college student in 2005, what God had in store for us-- the belly laughs, the heartbreak of miscarriages, the long nights in hospital rooms, the comfort of warm hugs and homecooked meals, brokenness and repair, sickness and health, forgiveness and friendship. We are better together, stronger for the storms we have faced.

March 24th will also 9 years since God delivered me from certain death. Easter weekend 2016, I suffered complications from a miscarriage that landed me in the ICU. As my organs were shutting down, the church, my family, and friends were praying for a miracle. After two emergency surgeries, against all odds, God saved my life. I will be forever grateful for those answered prayers. Life truly is a gift and meant to be lived. Soak in the sunshine. Smell the flowers. Eat the ice cream. Dance in public. Call your mom. Tell people you love them. Give thanks for every beautiful detail that graces your day. These are the good ol' days. Live like it!
